What we collect, and what we don't.
Last updated 2026-05-28.
The short version
DoTest is designed to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts. There is no email collection. Your test answers are scored in your browser and never reach our server. The shareable result link encodes your scores directly into the URL — when you share it, you're handing over the data; we don't hold a copy.
One thing we do is ask whether you're okay with Google Analytics cookies, so we can see which tests get taken and where people drop off. You can decline; nothing on the site stops working if you do.
What we collect
Anonymous traffic data via Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless product that tells us, in aggregate, how many people visited each page and which country they came from. This runs whether or not you consent to anything else.
Google Analytics 4, but only if you choose to
allow it. If you accept analytics cookies on the banner, we use GA4
to understand which tests get taken, how people move through the
site, and where they drop off. GA4 sets cookies (_ga,
_ga_*) on your device and sends pageview and event data
to Google. We have IP-anonymisation enabled and we
do not turn on the "Google signals" ad-personalisation features.
If you don't accept, GA4 is held in a denied state via Google's
Consent Mode v2 and no analytics cookies are written.
What we don't collect
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Your test answers (scored in your browser; never reach our server).
- Your test result (encoded into the share URL, not stored by us).
- Behavioural data for ad targeting (we don't run ads).
What's stored in your browser
While you're taking a test, we use localStorage on your
device to save your progress so you can resume if you close the
tab. This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data
clears it.
We also store your cookie banner choice (dotest_consent)
in localStorage so we don't ask you again on every
visit. You can change it any time from the "Cookie settings" link
in the footer.
Third parties
We host on Cloudflare. Cloudflare necessarily receives the request in order to serve the page — see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 receives pageview and event data — see Google's privacy policy. We do not embed Facebook Pixel, ad-tech beacons, session replay, or other third-party trackers.
Children
DoTest is written for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with us in a way that ought to be cleared, email privacy@dotest.app.
Your rights
We don't hold personal data about you on our server, so there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf.
If you've accepted analytics cookies, you have rights against Google directly under GDPR / your local equivalent — see the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and Google's data controls. You can also simply change your choice in the footer's "Cookie settings" link, which will clear those cookies on your next visit.
For anything else, write to privacy@dotest.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes. Continued use of DoTest after a change means you accept the current version.
