About

A small library of self-tests.

DoTest is a small library of self-tests. We make them short, design them carefully, and write the questions ourselves. If a test is here, it's because we thought it was worth four minutes of your time.

The premise is straightforward. A good self-test takes between three and five minutes, asks questions you can answer honestly, and produces a result you can sit with. Most of the internet's quizzes don't clear that bar — they were written in an afternoon to wrap display ads, and you can feel it.

Why we started with the Chivalry Test

The medieval virtues — honor, courage, courtesy, compassion, loyalty, integrity — translate surprisingly well to modern life. Whether you keep your word. Whether you say something when someone's being unkind. Whether you remember the small acts that make ordinary days warmer. None of that has changed in eight hundred years.

The test won't tell you anything you couldn't already tell yourself. But it might tell you something you've been avoiding telling yourself, and a good test is one that earns five minutes of that kind of attention.

What we don't do

  • We don't ask you to sign up.
  • We don't ask for your email.
  • We don't store your results on a server.
  • We don't run third-party ad tech.
  • We don't sell anything.

Your answers stay in your browser. Your result lives in the URL you share. That's it.

Who's behind this

DoTest is made by a small team interested in editorial design, self-knowledge, and the slightly old-fashioned idea that virtues can be practiced. We're not a research lab. We make the version of the internet we'd want to read.
